Indian Bridal Makeup

 In Airbrush, Weddings

I had another opportunity to team up with Christy Lavallee, a central MA-area artist who specializes in airbrush makeup. I recently added an airbrush kit to my arsenal (oh yes – I finally made the plunge!), and have been assisting her with big bridal parties ever since.

This wedding wasn’t big – just seven people needing makeup, including the bride – but with the scheduling it made sense to bring me in for the evening reception makeup. And in addition to airbrushed-perfect faces, everyone got beautiful, dramatic eyes. It’s so much fun to work with color! Here are my (admittedly really crappy) snapshots once the ladies were fully dressed for their night of partying – this is two bridesmaids and one mom:

And, although I didn’t do his makeup (he certainly doesn’t need any!), here’s a bonus shot of the evening’s little scene stealer:

I imagine Christy will do the story more justice, but let me tell you – the bride deserves a medal for coping calmly with a major mess-up on the part of one of her vendors. (The cake for the reception wasn’t ready – the baker had the wrong date! We were all packed into a tiny hotel room, so it was hard not to overhear snippets of the bride trying to resolve this with a particularly uncooperative vendor. We were aghast, but the bride kept her cool.) I don’t even know what became of the cake, but I certainly hope the rest of their evening went smoothly.

And finally, since my little point & shoot can only do so much, here’s a nicer close-up of this style of makeup:
