Mindi’s summer wedding at Quonquont Farm in Whately MA
One of the most popular requests I get is the natural look: perfect for brides who don’t typically wear much makeup and want to look polished – but recognizable – on their wedding day. This means keeping the complexion soft (with freckles and beauty marks visible), the eyes defined but not overly decorated, and the lips and cheeks slightly blushed for the camera, but not “painted on.”
In the industry, we call it clean beauty. While I unabashedly love breaking out my colors and getting creative (heh, you should see me on Halloween), clean beauty is one of my absolute favorite things to do because it’s about featuring the individual in my chair with subtle enhancements that don’t leap off the face or transform them into someone else entirely.
Mindi is a perfect example. This young intellectual rocked her colorful glasses* down the Quonquont orchard aisle last summer and needed only subtle makeup to keep her fresh-faced and glowing. I especially love the first look with her handsome kilt-wearing groom!
* look closely: her shoes match her rims!
